If one of your parents or family members has a Secure Trust Bank Current Account, they are able to add an additional MasterCard® prepaid card onto the account, and send this to you at university. (There’s a £5 fee for each additional card on the account). Our quick and easy money top-up method allows them to load cash onto your card in real time, so you are free to use the Prepaid Card right away. Your parents can either set up a regular monthly payment onto the card, or make one-off loads as and when you need them.  And, when you shop at any of the participating Rewards retailers using your card, they will benefit from the cash rewards you earn – this could be a ‘thank you’ from you to them!

The MasterCard® Prepaid Card that comes with our Secure Trust Bank Current Account is different from a standard Debit Card in that it is separate from your account.  You load money from your account onto the card, rather than accessing all the funds in your account through the card. As long as you are a UK resident over the age of 18, you will be able to open a Secure Trust Bank Current Account quickly and easily, online or on the phone.  All we ask is that you confirm your identity when making your application, to prove that you are who you say you are, and that you have the right to reside within the UK.
