Yes, just send us a secure message before maturity to let us know you'd like your funds paid back to you. If your funds are paid into a Matured Funds Access Account, you can close your account via Internet Banking. 

Unfortunately this option is not available through the Maturity Portal.

Partial withdrawals are not permitted from the Matured Funds Access Account.

You do not need to give notice to close the account. Once you submit your instruction to close, your funds will be returned to you on the next Business Day.

If you change your mind before the date your product matures, you can send us a secure message to let us know what you'd like to do.

If you change your mind but your Bond has already matured and the funds have been transferred to your new account, you can close the account within 14 days. To do this, you would need to contact us by secure message or by telephone.

Notice Account and Access Account customers (including those with a Matured Funds Access Account or Matured Funds Access ISA), can close an account via Internet Banking. However, closing an ISA account will mean that savings lose their tax-free status.

When you're logged in, click on your account, select 'Withdrawals' in the menu on the left and then choose 'Close account'.

Once you submit your instruction to close, your funds will be returned to you on the next Business Day.

We will also contact you prior to your Fixed Rate Bond maturing to advise you of your options.

Interest is calculated daily and paid on 31 December. Your interest will be added to your Matured Funds Access Account or paid away to your Nominated Account, as per your maturing Bond.

Upon closure of your account, any interest earned will be calculated and paid to your Nominated Account.

Only one account holder needs to complete the form to select a maturity product, but we will contact the second account holder to confirm they agree with the instructions.

To close a Matured Funds Access Account, you will need to call us.

If you have 15 days or more before your Bond is due to mature, you can change your Nominated Account via Internet Banking.

If your Bond is due to mature within the next 14 days, you will need to let it mature into a Matured Funds Access Account before you can change your Nominated Account. This is due to certain security restrictions in place to protect your account. Once your funds are in a Matured Funds Access Account, you can then log into Internet Banking, change the Nominated Account and close the account. Find out how to close your account.

If your Fixed Rate Bond was opened before 24 November 2017 and we have not had any alternative instructions, your funds will be sent to your Nominated Account.

If your Fixed Rate Bond was opened after 24 November 2017 and we have not had any alternative instructions, your funds will be transferred into a Matured Funds Access Account.

If you have opted to transfer your funds to a maturity product, your funds will be transferred upon maturity.

If your Fixed Rate Bond was opened before 24 November 2017 and we have not received any instructions, your funds will automatically be sent to your Nominated Account upon maturity.

If your Fixed Rate Bond was opened after 24 November 2017, you will need to send us a secure message before maturity to let us know you'd like your funds paid back to you.

If we don't receive any instructions, your funds will be transferred into a Matured Funds Access Account upon maturity. If this happens, you can log in to Internet Banking to close the account and your funds will be returned to you.

A Matured Funds Access Account is a new account where we will transfer your funds if we do not receive any alternative instructions before your Fixed Rate Bond matures. This only applies for Fixed Rate Bonds opened after 24 November 2017.

We will contact you with details of the Matured Funds Access Account before your Fixed Rate Bond matures.

In response to the ongoing virus outbreak referred to as Coronavirus or COVID-19, we're implementing a number of measures that mean we're looking at alternative ways of operating, whilst still providing a high level of service.

Moving the maturity process online means we're not reliant on the postal service so that if it is affected, we can continue to provide you with your maturity options and you can give us your instructions.
