Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance (STB CF), the asset-based lending arm of Secure Trust Bank, has announced the appointment of David Ward as Portfolio & Structuring Director.
Based in London and supporting clients nationwide, David will manage a diverse portfolio of corporate ABL clients, with a focus on structuring and delivering funding solutions across STB's full suite of ABL products.
David brings over 30 years of experience in the invoice finance and ABL market, with a long-standing track record in client and portfolio management. He joins STB CF from ABN AMRO's UK ABL operation, where he was Head of Relationship & Asset Management for Corporate and International. Prior to ABN AMRO, David held senior corporate structured finance roles at GE Capital and earlier served as an underwriter and portfolio leader at GMAC Commercial Finance and Operations Director at NMB-Heller.
His appointment comes at a time of continued success for STB CF, and the appointment reinforces the firm's commitment to building relationships with private equity houses and supporting ambitious mid-market businesses across the UK.
David Ward, Portfolio & Structuring Director at Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance, said: "STB CF has a strong reputation for getting deals done through a relationship-led approach that really resonates with clients. I'm looking forward to getting to know the business and working closely with clients to support their working capital requirements and growth aspirations.
"It remains a very competitive market with plenty of liquidity available, but businesses continue to value speed of decision-making and lenders who are genuinely solution driven. In an uncertain economic environment, certainty of delivery and a partnership approach from a trusted lender are key drivers for both prospective and existing clients and I'm excited to help deliver these at STB CF."
Sean Powell, Managing Director at Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance, said: "David's depth of experience across corporate ABL, structuring and portfolio management will be a real asset to the business, our clients and private equity sponsors. His wealth of expertise, that comes from leading complex transactions, reinforces our desire to support ambitious businesses with bespoke, multi-asset facilities. We're excited to welcome David to the team."
