Confirmation of Payee, or 'CoP', is a service that helps to make sure payments aren't sent to the wrong bank account.

It's mandatory for the six major banking groups - Barclays, HSBC (including First Direct), Lloyds (including Halifax and Bank of Scotland), Nationwide, RBS (including NatWest and Ulster) and Santander - but not for Secure Trust Bank Group.

That's why you may see a message that we're not a confirmed bank when you make a transfer into your new Secure Trust Bank account from your Nominated Account.

It's nothing to worry about but for peace of mind, double-check your sort code, account number and the amount, to make sure it's all correct.
